Introducing i-EDMR

As the demand for trauma-informed care rises and traditional therapy delivery faces new challenges, the iEMDR device offers a groundbreaking way to deliver effective EMDR treatment—safely and remotely.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a widespread mental health condition affecting millions of Americans. About 6% of the population will have the condition at some point in their lives. Over 15 million adults have PTSD in a given year, and this is only a small fraction of people who go through trauma.

The advent of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) was a significant breakthrough in the treatment of PTSD. In this structured psychotherapy, a therapist instructs patients to move their eyes rhythmically left and right while thinking of an unpleasant memory or experience. EMDR has been effective in alleviating the symptoms of PTSD.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic presented a major obstacle to the future of EMDR by halting face-to-face procedures.

The good news is that there is a solution to this emerging problem—i-EMDR.

I-EMDR

The iEMDR is an innovative solution that aims to continue delivering quality care to PTSD patients despite the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic. It aims to revolutionize the treatment of the disorder.

iEMDR is a smart device operated by a smartphone, allowing therapists to deliver EMDR to patients electronically. The device recognizes the vitality of the rhythmic lateral eye movement and other forms of bilateral stimulation. As such, it features visual, auditory, and tactile stimuli that a therapist systematically controls when administering EMDR therapy.

A New Highly Effective Way to Deliver EMDR

The prevalence of PTSD is getting out of hand. Yet, recent trends, such as COVID-19, are challenging the sustainability of the conventional methods of
delivering care to PTSD patients. For example, interventions that primarily relied on the face-to-face relationship or contact between patients and their healthcare providers are becoming irrelevant. There is a growing need for innovative solutions that address these emerging concerns, especially in treating sensitive mental health disorders such as PTSD.

With technology playing a huge role in healthcare, iEMDR is the future. The device leverages advanced technological capabilities to make the delivery of
EMDR safe, convenient, and effective.
